Project Background
A financial institution needed to retire 200+ servers, storage and network devices from an aging data center during a business upgrade. Key requirements: zero data leakage, fully compliant and traceable disposal, and maximised residual value.
Our Solution
Chun Yam dispatched a specialist project team to execute a four-phase plan: data destruction, equipment removal, asset valuation, and regeneration. Hard drives were wiped to NIST 800-88 standard over multiple passes; classified drives were physically destroyed with video proof and certificates. Serviceable equipment was refurbished for reuse, while end-of-life devices entered compliant recycling.
Results
Completed in 12 working days with 100% pass rate on data destruction. Residual value recovered exceeded client expectations by 18%, with full traceability reports enabling zero-risk compliance audit.
